Apple

Apple is a great company for user-friendly gadgets that look great.  It is an American multinational that’s involved in computers and other electronics for the general public to buy.  It used to be focused solely on computers but these days under the leadership of Chairman Jobs it’s devoted much more to general technology.  It was started on April Fool’s Day in 1976 in Cupertino, California, where the company is still headquartered to this day.  Once near death and predicted by none other than Chairman Gates of Microsoft to be a loser, the company has now become once again one of the most profitable hi-tech companies in the industry.

It was able to do this by putting out sleek-looking gadgets that appealed to yuppies and the like, creative types and youth, and focusing on lifestyle and design sense rather than straightforward business-like sales pitches about value and so forth.  Apple found that instead of engaging in a race to the bottom, trying to undersell every competitor, it was going to go for the upscale market, those willing to pay a premium for good looks.  In terms of basic old-fashioned salesmanship, the company focused on benefits, not features.  Its advertising campaign revolved around how “cool” its products were instead of how inexpensive they were.

Consumers can’t go wrong buying an Apple product.  Though the emphasis is on styling and design, they have also set the standard in user-friendliness and general overall usability for the entire industry.  Whether you’re looking for value or best-in-class features, you’re likely to find both in spades in an Apple product.  It is one of the great American success stories of corporate lore, and there’s no way it would have gotten that way if it weren’t for making great products in the first place, stuff people not only want but have come to feel they need and can’t live without!
